Variable Flow System Overview and Evolution

The first video also contrasts variable flow with constant flow and illustrates how the quest for better efficiency pushed us from the constant flow systems - that were quite common when I first entered the industry in the mid 1970's - to variable flow systems and how advances in technology have allowed us to further optimize variable flow system operation.

Variable Flow Primary Secondary Heating Hot Water System Operation

This is a video I made to help a client document how their variable flow heating hot water system worked and explain it to the team working on the system.   It includes some of the basic principles behind pumps, two way and three way valves, variable speed drives, and balancing because you have to understand all of that to understand how the system works.  
The system uses thermostatic, self contained valves on the boiler loops and I discuss how they work and include schematics to illustrate this.
